You never know what you are capable of until you try. So this week I invite you to try something new – you just might be surprised at what you discover. Yesterday I managed to surprise myself on a bike ride. I hadn’t been on a bike in over 2 years since I took a fall that required surgical knee repair and involved a lengthy recovery.
Everyone has those days when the gravitational pull of the sofa far exceeds the push to get up and move. Maybe you’re super busy right now. Or depressed. Or on a deadline you can’t miss.
Ah, we’re approaching the first month of the first year of the new decade. It’s the time of year for resolutions, goals, and intention-setting. Whatever you call it, it’s how you are stating to yourself, and those you share with, your vision for growth and change.
I’ve heard this before, haven’t you? How you do anything is how you do everything. It’s one of those general sayings that is susceptible to “yes, but…” rationalizations.
If something in your environment isn’t serving you, you can change it. And when the environment in which you spend most of your time supports your goals, motivation becomes…irrelevant. You will have set yourself up to succeed every day and reaching your goals will become easier.
Even when you know what you need to do, the magic is really in the doing, and for that, there is no magic pill. No one can eat or move your body for you. So let’s look at some things that might be holding you back.
